Hello and welcome to the website and the life of Paul Xavier
Where shall I start then? A brief history of my life seems a good place. It all started 47 years ago back in Liverpool , where I was born . I had a lovely time there and still love where I am from. At the age of 17 I became a hairdresser and worked my bum off to become the best there is and “one of the best in the world”. Well… that is what I have been told anyway and what I believe as well. After about ten years of hairdressing, I looked at the photographic, television and film industries and realised I needed to be able to do make–up as well. So on I went and learnt the wonderful art of make-up, which I love as much as hairdressing .
My hair and make-up skills have allowed me to meet and work with a lot of my heros and to experience things I only dreamed about. There is no better feeling in the world than being able to say I love my work… and I do.
My make-up skills are diverse, ranging from a soft, natural look, to weddings, red carpet nights, glamorous parties and all sorts of television programs, working with presenters and artists young and old. Then I might even be working on a horror film or a fashion shoot. I have always believed that a true make-up artist can create a masterpiece out of anything they put their hand to.
Whether it be children’s hair or over-the-top out-there styling, my hairdressing skills are exceptional and consistent. I do love period dramas and all of the costumes as well from up-dos, to beautiful long and flowing blow-dries…every type of hair… nothing is too big or too small.
I am proud to say I have a reputation for being a joy to have on-set. I believe in keeping everyone happy from the runner to the star of the show. A smile goes a very long way and if you’re happy when you get to work then you can bring your happiness to the shoot and it shows in your work. This is my motto and is what I tell everyone I teach. Which brings me to my next point: I also teach in a wonderful make-up school in London as well. I truly enjoy being able to pass on my knowledge and skills to whomever wants to learn them

I will be updating my website regularly with lovely photos and video clips of my work and some handy tips as well. This is the year I will be bring the hair and make-up industry to the “front line”.
